The Wild Coast is not only one of South Africa’s most dramatic, dynamic and remote areas, but also home to the colorful culture of the amaXhosa nation and birthplace of Nelson Mandela, father of our nation.

African Heartland Journeys offers a broad range of experiences for the International Student Group market. By combining an exhilarating sense of adventure with a strong cultural component, we journey through the hills and valleys of the former Transkei learning of its history, culture, prominent leaders and the socio-political developments of South Africa, our heartland.

We work with universities, lecturers and agents to build the most uplifting, appropriate and informative Wild Coast experience. We encourage cultural immersion through rural village based accommodation, environmental appreciation through hiking, swimming, exercise and reflection and exciting personal challenges in the form of canoeing, mountain biking and kloofing.
